Myrtle Beach offers some world-class entertainment, and if you're the swashbuckling type, nothing beats the Pirates Voyage Dinner Attraction. You can cheer on your favorite band of pirates during this exciting adventure on the high seas, all while feasting on a meal fit for a Pirate King.

Argh, matey!

Pirates Voyage brings to life the real buccaneering history of South Carolina, where in the 1700s, pirates plied the coastal waters in search of cargo to plunder. Famed Blackbeard, in fact, was one of the most feared pirates on the South Carolina coast.

But today, you need not risk life, limb and liberty to see some pirate action first hand. Pirates Voyage gives audiences a high-energy show including pirates battling on deck, in the water, and in the air above full-sized pirate ships in a 15-foot-deep indoor lagoon. Acrobatics, mermaids, live animals, an original music score by Dolly Parton -- this show has it all.

And audiences are a part of the action. Show up early for the show, and visit the Pirate Village, an interactive experience full of -- you guessed it -- pirates. Then, during the show, audiences can cheer on their favorite band of pirates. Who will take the treasure? The Crimson pirates, or the Sapphire crew?

Dinner consists of a pirate feast of  Creamy Vegetable Soup (if you love it, you can buy the soup mix), Buccaneer Bread, Half O’ Roasted Cackler (chicken), Captain BBQ Pork,  Cob O’ Buttery (corn), Pirate Shipwreck Taters, Apple O’ Me Eye Pie, and bottomless Pepsi, tea or coffee. (Vegetarian meals are available, just contact the ticket desk.)

Shows are daily or twice daily through spring, with up to three shows daily -- 4, 6 and 8:30 p.m. -- through the peak summer season. Tickets cost $49.04 (including taxes) for ages 12 and older and $23.97 for ages 4-11. Children 3 and younger are admitted free if they sit on a parent's lap and share a parent's meal.

Accessibility needs are always accommodated. Call ahead to the ticket desk (843-497-9700 or 800-433-4401 and Pirates Voyage will make sure your crew is taken care of.
