President’s Day Weekend in Myrtle Beach: What to do While You’re in Town
Heading to Myrtle Beach for a long 2014 President’s Day Weekend Feb. 12-17? Here are a few of our favorite things to do in Myrtle Beach for President’s Day weekend:
President’s Day Weekend has been a shopping holiday for a long time, and the best thing about it is how good the deals are. Since it’s positioned between Christmas and back-to-school shopping, many stores offer their best deals of the year in order to lure shoppers into stores. In the past, Myrtle Beach area stores including Best Buy have seen big crowds for their President’s Day Weekend sales.
Here are a few places where you might be able to find a good deal:
Tanger Outlets: Hwy. 17, 10835 Kings Road, Myrtle Beach; Hwy. 501, 4635 Factory Stores Blvd., Myrtle Beach
Coastal Grand Mall: 2000 Coastal Grand Circle, Myrtle Beach
Myrtle Beach Mall: 10177 North Kings Highway, Myrtle Beach
Inlet Square Mall: 12125 Hwy. 17 Bypass A12, Murrells Inlet
Check out the Myrtle Beach Marathon fun!
Even if you’re not running in the Myrtle Beach marathon, you will most likely notice a few more people in town, as nearly 10,000 participate every year. And the events are great fun to check out, especially since the race organizers started incorporating live, wild animals from the Myrtle Beach Rare Species Fund, including chimps and Bubbles the elephant. Why not check out the race route on the Myrtle Beach Marathon’s website and head down to cheer on the runners!
Check out Broadway
Broadway at the Beach is a fun way to spend an afternoon any time of year. There’s great shopping and of course plenty of entertainment to be had. If the weather’s nice, you can visit the Carousel Park and Pavilion Nostalgia Park—the teacups, caterpillar rides, pirate ships … it all adds up to good times!
If it’s colder, you may want to head to an indoor location instead, such as the ever-popular interactive WonderWorks, which is open year-round. We love the interactive exhibits, from the bubble lab to the illusion gallery.
