Art Museum’s Spring Tour of Homes Coming to Myrtle Beach March 8
In the springtime, we can count on a few of our favorite things: Warming weather, spring flowers, and the Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Museum’s Tour of Homes, a rare opportunity to explore some of the most sumptuously appointed homes in Myrtle Beach. The event, the primary fundraiser for the museum, includes a luncheon buffet at The Dunes Golf and Beach Club.
While the list of homes that will be included on the tour has yet to be set, you can count on gorgeous homes decorated with unique South Carolina style. Past years have included as many as 8 homes in Pine Lakes, Dunes Cove, Plantation Point and right on Ocean Boulevard. Home décor styles might range from classic/traditional with cherry details to Georgian-style manors with salvaged-wood flooring, beachfront mission-style homes with sweeping ocean views to high-end and exquisitely appointed luxury condos.
The tour will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 8, 2014, and can include a buffet luncheon for an additional $17 per person at The Dunes Golf and Beach Club at 9000 North Ocean Boulevard. Reservations for the luncheon are suggested and may be made thorough the art museum at 843-238-2510. Tickets for the tour are $40 in advance and $45 the day of the tour. For information about where to purchase tickets, visit the museum’s website.
The Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Museum opened its doors in 1997, and is dedicated to the goal of “being one of the finest visual arts museums in the Carolinas.” Admission to the museum, which is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays, is free, though donations are always accepted.
