Prepare to be Amazed: Illusions of Magic at the Palace Theatre
It’s not often you get the opportunity to be truly awe-struck. But in Myrtle Beach, we have a fresh chance for you to be really amazed by the new Palace Theatre: Illusions of Magic show.
The show is loaded with action, including amazing special effects and performances by a troupe of dancers in ever-changing costumes. Picture laser-eyed aliens brandishing glowing light sabers and part-human cyber-bots walking across the stage. Or clapping your hands while dancers leap and shake to thumping music dressed like a cross between the Blue Man Group and Oompla Loompas. Some popular music makes appearances as well, including the massive hit “Gangnam Style.”
The show also includes a nostalgic look back at the 1930s and classic magicians Cardini and Houdini, as well as a dramatic kabuki-style dance and illusion number. Perhaps the most dramatic routine is jungle themed and includes an appearance by a majestic white Bengal tiger.
Featuring two action-packed hours of entertainment, this one of a kind Myrtle Beach magic show is hosted by Dale Scott. A magician who began at an early age, Scott won the Gold Medal of Merit from the Society of American Magicians when he was only 19 years old.
In the years since, the illusionist has been honing his craft, and now regularly wows crowds with his interactive show filled with comedy, magic and grand illusions. Scott performs many of the classic magic maneuvers, including sleight of hand and conjuring moves—if you’re sitting near the front of the theater, get ready to find some coins in your ears! The show also includes amazing sawing and disappearing acts, often featuring Dale’s stunning assistant Ana, that will leave you wondering, “how did they do that?”
If you go, be ready to participate. Scott made it clear that the louder the crowd, the stronger the magic. But attendees should also be prepared to have their photo taken with the tiger or be brought onto stage to participate in an illusion!
