Watch Movies Under the Stars Free at Market Common, Myrtle Beach
Do you miss the outdoor, late-night experience of drive-in movie theaters? Here’s a great way to relive the fun of watching movies outdoors: Movies Under the Stars at Valor Park in Market Common. Movies Under the Stars will show free, family-friendly movies at 9 p.m. every Wednesday night in June, July and August.
The schedule for this year’s Movies Under the Stars has not yet been set, but in 2012, the films shown included the original “Superman,” “Forrest Gump,” “Mary Poppins,” “Elf,” “Goonies” and “The Wizard of Oz.”
If you head down to the Market Common for your Myrtle Beach movie night, you’ll want to bring a chair or blanket. Attendance is free, but you may want some pocket cash for gourmet snacks and popcorn from Canipes Chocolates & Candies.
Market Common is one of the top shopping and dining spots in Myrtle Beach, popular among visitors and locals alike. It has an array of shopping options, including upscale retailers such as Tommy Bahama, Orvis, and Pottery Barn. It’s also a great spot for dining, with many options, including Travinia Italian Kitchen, Gordon Biersch Brewery for higher-end pub food and P.F. Chang’s China Bistro.
In addition to Wednesday night Movies Under the Stars, the Market Common is planning to offer complimentary carriage rides on Fridays from 6 to 9 p.m. during summer months. There will also be a farmer’s market held on DeVille Street every Saturday from May 4 through October from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
