The Caribbean Resort & Villas has served as a luxury home away from home in Myrtle Beach, S.C., for countless families over the last 40 years. The Caribbean’s oceanfront Dominican, for example, recently unveiled all new furniture and bedding, tile kitchens, baths and chic wall coverings in the bedroom and living rooms throughout all two-room suites. The Dominican’s amenity highlights include oceanfront private balconies and a pool deck.

The newly built Cayman Tower at Caribbean Resort features two-, three- and four-bedroom West Indies-style condos, as well as an indoor/outdoor pool, lazy river, kiddie pool, whirlpool, splash deck, Tiki Grille, poolside bar, and fitness, video game and meeting rooms. Families will love the Caribbean Kidz Klub in the summer months.

And, for guests who prefer smaller, quieter accommodations, there are The Jamaican Inn and the Chelsea House condos and courtyard across the street from the main resort.

What to expect: The Caribbean Resort is a family-friendly Myrtle Beach hotel for relaxed vacations with water-parks, particularly suited to those who prefer to be north of busier downtown Myrtle Beach, but remaining close to the downtown attractions. Guests age 20 and younger are not permitted unless accompanied by an adult.

Amenity highlights: A 200-foot lazy river sheltered by a solarium in winter provides year-round fun. Sharing the same outdoor deck is an unheated 50-foot-long free-form pool and a 16-person spa tub.

Insider tip: The resort offers golfers playing privileges to the celebrated and private Dunes Golf Course seven miles away.
