The whole family will enjoy exploring The Children’s Museum of South Carolina. This museum is packed full of educational exhibits and hands-on learning perfect for all ages. From the moment you step inside your child’s senses are stimulated! Starting with the Discover South Carolina exhibit where they can learn about native plants and animals to the model-scale Electric City that is powered by pedaling as fast as your child can! Drive the Magic School Bus, Captain the USS Kids-A-Float, prepare an imaginary pizza using fractions, create a masterpiece in the Express Yourself Art Center, or play dentist and doctor in the Kid’s Medical Center. They can learn about recycling, how sea turtles dig the dark, hurricanes and weather, and money in The Big Bank. Get their hands dirty with gem-mining and fossil then “clean-up” at the Bubble Station. There is even a play area for crawlers with blocks, foam puzzles, age-appropriate toys and more. Adult play is encouraged and you may learn something right along with the kids! This museum is efficiently laid out with an eager staff ready to facilitate your child’s learning experience by assisting with displays and answering questions. Open from June until August, Monday-Saturday from 9:00 am – 4:00 and Sundays 12-5 pm. September until May they are open Tuesday-Saturday from 9:00 am-3:00 pm and Sundays 12-5 pm. Admission for adults and children over one year is $8.00 per person; children under 1 year are free. Come “touch, explore, play and learn” in the heart of Myrtle Beach at The Children’s Museum of South Carolina.
