Myrtle Beach Boardwalk Entertainment District

Take a stroll along the most magical stretch of the Grand Strand at the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk Entertainment District, a 1.3-mile oceanfront walkway that cuts through the heart of downtown.

Scattered throughout the scenic walkway are a variety attractions, shops, restaurants and nightlife establishments, as well as entertainment and recreational activities for the whole family.

Featuring elevated wooden walkways on the northern side, winding, paved pathways on the south end, and the spacious Plyler Park and Promenade in the middle, the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk Entertainment District serves as the main foot-traffic thoroughfare downtown. Visitors stroll down the beachfront in the ocean breeze and make happy vacation memories along the way.

Starting at the northernmost points at 16th Avenue North, a new entertainment and dining complex has become one of the hottest spots in town. Hear live music straight out of Nashville at the Tin Roof or simply chill out on the open-air decks at RipTydes, Bandito’s, or 14th Avenue Pier.

Head farther south to the heart of the Myrtle Beach Entertainment District, with the 190-foot, neon-lit Myrtle Beach SkyWheel serving as the focal point. Passengers can ride to the top in glass-enclosed, climate-controlled gondolas for panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and downtown district. Stop in at LandShark Landing, a Jimmy Buffett-inspired bar and grill, or nearby Peaches Corner, Oceanfront Grill or The Bowery, which  continues to crank out live country music.

Plyler Park serves as the site of summer concerts, festivals, fireworks and more. The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk offers some recreational opportunities along the oceanfront with beach volleyball courts, and a zip line carries patrons over the former Pavilion site, home of the annual Carolina Country Music Festival. The Gateway Galleria development is attracting shops and restaurants, joining nearby hot spots like Eighth Avenue Tiki Bar and Art Burger Sushi Bar.

The final leg of the Boardwalk winds through lush landscaping to the Second Avenue Pier. Offering fishing, dining and a rooftop bar with a spectacular view, the last stop is a great place to relax before heading back the other direction and doing it all over again.
