This popular restaurant and bar has been a fixture at Broadway at the Beach since both opened in 1995, building a strong local following that continues today. With the brewery on full display in an glass-enclosed room in the center of the restaurant, there is as much focus on the beer as the food. Although the emphasis is on steaks and beer, Liberty features an extensive menu to satisfy the taste buds of the pickiest eaters. The lunch and dinner menus include soups, salads, sandwiches and burgers, while a wide range of seafood, grilled meats and other eats come out at night. The Bourbon Street Steak, marinated in Kentucky bourbon and other seasonings, with the Beer Boiled Peel-and-Eat Shrimp cooked in Old Bay and Rocket Red Ale make a great surf-and-turf combination. Liberty also brews as many as eight different house beers at a time, but sells domestics and imports in a bottle.
Due in part to its Broadway at the Beach location and its focus on beer, Liberty attracts a fun-thirsty crowd, especially during the popular happy hour window from 4 to 8 p.m. Discounted brews and apps bring good times to the bar area and patio deck, while the dining room remains more relxaed than most family casual establishments. The late-night crowd also gathers at Liberty for occasional live music and always-good food and drink.
