Located in the Cherry Grove section of North Myrtle Beach, Harold's On The Ocean is a legendary local beach bar and shag club.
Some might say the party never stops at HOTO's — as the locals call it — as the bar is open 365 days a year from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. each day.
Earning its reputation with a firendly staff, laid-back decor and an amazing beachfront patio area filled with live music and laid-back vibes, this bar has been voted “Show Club of The Year” multiple times by the Carolina Beach Music Awards and also heralded for it summer concert series.
You'll find a danceable mix of music at this shagger's haven, with Carolina Beach Music, Oldies, Classic Rock and more on display daily throughout the summer months. There's always something going on at night whether it's bands, karaoke or just relaxing by the bar with an ocean view.
Though it's made its mark more as a beach hangout, the food at HOTO's is also worth writing home about.
“You ain't had steamed shrimp 'til you've had Harold's steamed shrimp!” reads the menu at HOTO's, a strong indicator that all the restaurant's seafood is top-notch. From the scrumptious steamed shrimp and fish tacos to the Beach Po Boy with shrimp and oysters and deep fried seafood baskets, there's plenty of fresh from the ocean treats to enjoy.
If you're really hungry you can also enjoy the “Fat Man's” Double Burger or a variety of burgers, sandwiches and wraps for lunch and dinner.
The grill is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday through Sunday with happy hour five days a week from 4 to 7 p.m. Daily Lunch & Drink Specials are also available.
