Murrells Inlet MarshWalk

Beautiful inlets and marshes are some of the Grand Strand’s best assets – just sitting and looking out at them brings viewers feelings of tranquility and peace. One of the best places to take in the sights and sounds of these natural wonders is the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk.

Located in “The Seafood Capitol of the South,” the walk itself meanders along the inlet of an old fishing town that is famous for inventing hush puppies, and as a place where pirates like Blackbeard and Drunken Jack hid their treasures.

Aside from the obvious attraction, some of the area’s best restaurants and bars line the MarshWalk, offering fresh seafood, cold beverages, and live music.

The place is also a haven for some of the most exciting festivals and events on the Grand Strand. Throughout the year, the MarshWalk hosts boat parades on the 4th of July and Christmas, a raucous Halloween Costume Contest, and numerous food fests including an annual Oyster Roast and the super-popular Lip-Rippin’ Chilympics Chili Cook-Off. But don’t worry if there are no planned festivities while you’re in town – Murrells Inlet is jumping with locals and visitors alike every weekend.

In addition to everything else, the MarshWalk is home to several businesses that specialize in fishing charters, boat tours, jet ski rentals, and whatever else it is that you might want to do out on the water.

So whether you’re in the mood for a scenic walk, a great meal, a day on the water, or all of the above, the MarshWalk is definitely the place to be.
