Banditos adds Latin flavor, food and fun to Ocean Boulevard
From the earthy and elegant décor to the refined and rustic food, Banditos Restaurant & Cantina On The Boardwalk is an eatery distinctively different yet pleasingly familiar.
As you enter the restaurant, you are greeted with the friendly staff willing to do whatever they can to take care of you and your group. There are several options for seating.
First you have the front open air outside bar along the boulevard.
A great place to watch the cars and people go by while enjoying a frosty beverage.
On the inside you will find, slate tile columns, in rock grays and metallic rust hues that are prominent in front of the main dining room bar area. The inside bar has more than 100 kinds of tequila shelved in neat lines along with renowned spirits, including Crown Royal, Belvedere and Beefeater.
The main seating is a mixture of tarnished hardwood booths, saucy weathered tables with matching chairs and super cool spool tables accented by wedge seats you remove by gently pulling on antique dresser drawer handles.
As you move to the oceanfront outdoor eating area, you will see the large open air deck, an upper deck and the lower seating area that has views of the Atlantic Ocean that are just amazing.
From the appetizers to the signature dishes, some of the varied cuisines of Latin America are presented at Banditos.
There are 5 different salsas that you can order are amazing and always made from scratch with the freshest ingredients. Try the Island Mango, the Salsa Verde with fresh guacamole or pico de gallo along with the fresh made chips. This is always a great way to start off your meal.
Some of the specialty menu items are the Summer Tomato Salad with sliced vine ripened tomatoes, sliced avocado, diced jalapeno, pickled onion, fresh basil, and queso fresco and salsa verde.
Next try the Pulled Pork Empanadas filled with Southwestern slaw, tamarind BBQ, and served with spicy mango sauce. Or try the Enchiladas Mole Bandito, which is shredded chicken and pulled pork enchiladas in the signature mole sauce. Finally, the Shrimp and Grits Bandito Style which is tamales steamed in the husk, sautéed wild caught shrimp with sweet corn, spinach chorizo, fresh chilies, Spanish onions in light tomato cream and many more.
Whatever you choose to eat at Banditos can be washed down with your choice from a liberal list of tequila, beer, spirits, wine, margaritas and specialty cocktails.
The “Casa” Banditarita, on the rocks, features house tequila, triple sec and a margarita mix made in house, or try one of their other 9 different margaritas that they offer. They also offer over 10 different specialty cocktails from all over the world like the Caribbean Dreamsicle made of Midori, Bacardi Silver, Blue Curacao, Cream of Coconut and Pineapple Juice. Not only is it the color of the Caribbean waters, it taste like paradise.
The friendly servers wear T-shirts in bright and cheerful hues that show what a fun and exciting place it is to come and enjoy.
Don’t worry, you can buy one as a souvenir on your way home and they even have a tie dye one. Along with the t-shirts they sell shakers, half yards and hats, so don’t forget to pick up your favorite to keep as a memory.
