Alabama Theatre Offers Music, Shows and More

Country music super-group Alabama got its start in Myrtle Beach before moving onto stardom, but the Grammy Award-winning band left behind a living tribute to their time on the Grand Strand at the Alabama Theatre.

And true to the heart-felt music the good ol’ boys of Alabama played back in the good ol’ days of Myrtle Beach in the 1970s, their namesake theater keeps their sound and spirit alive four decades later.
Located in the popular Barefoot Landing entertainment, shopping and dining complex in North Myrtle Beach, the 2,000-seat Alabama Theatre features nightly live performances by touring musical acts as well as regularly scheduled shows in a small venue but in a professional setting.

The Alabama Theatre's most popular attraction is the award-winning “ONE: The Show,” which runs annually from February through October. Featuring off-Broadway style entertainers performing songs, dances and scenes designed to delight the entire family. The professional sound, lighting and choreography add to the experience.

During the offseason, the Alabama Theatre celebrates the holiday season with “The South's Grandest Christmas Show” taking the stage. An excellent cast performs all the Christmas classics, backed by dancers, ice skaters and comical acts that can get even the biggest scrooge into the holiday spirit.

And throughout the year, the Alabama Theatre features some of the top touring musical acts in the nation live and in concert. Future and past performers include music by stars like Vince Gill, The Temptations, the Oak Ridge Boys, the Kingston Trio, the Four Tops and, of course, Alabama, as well as comedians Bill Cosby and Larry the Cable Guy.

Voted the No. 1 Live Theatre Attraction on the Grand Strand, the Alabama Theatre offers family entertainment seven nights a week with occasional matinee specials. The impressive lobby offers concessions and souvenir stands, and a professional and courteous staff is available to help you purchase tickets and find your seats.

The Alabama Theatre's location in North Myrtle Beach’s Barefoot Landing provides plenty of action before and after the show. Spend the whole day shopping at some of the 100-plus outlets are make it dinner and a show by visiting one of the many great restaurants in the complex.
