Drink While You Draw at Wine & Design
By MyrtleBeachHotels.com Staff • March 17, 2014Maybe you've always fancied yourself a bit of a van Gogh. Maybe even your paint-by-numbers canvases somehow always end up looking like preschool art projects. Whether you're a beginner or an expert with a brush, you're guaranteed to be proud of what you paint at one of the Myrtle Beach area's Wine & Design locations.
The “Wine” is for the beverages you'll sip as you flourish your paintbrush with fervor or let it trail along the canvas in tranquility. The “Design” is for the one-of-a-kind work of art you'll bring home after your two-hour session. Led by local artists, you and the rest of the group will follow step-by-step instructions that ensure even the most inexperienced of artists will look like a Picasso . . . and have a ton of fun with new friends in the process!
Friends and North Carolina natives Emmy Preiss and Harriet Mills formed Wine & Design in 2010 when the two were looking for a creative outlet. They drew up a business plan, found financial backers who believed in their mission to bring something new to the creative lives of people everywhere, and expanded to thirty franchises in just three years. They provide the paint, canvases, brushes, corkscrews, and cups, and you bring your favorite bottle of red or white.
Wine & Design has three studios in and around the Myrtle Beach area: one in Myrtle Beach itself, one near Charleston in West Ashley, and one in Mount Pleasant. You can host a private party at any of the locations for a unique girls' night out, a birthday party, a wedding or baby shower, or even a corporate team-building activity. But if you can't make it to them, Wine & Design will come to you! The Design on Wheels group brings the party to your house–or bar or restaurant or office. If your event is a fundraiser, Wine & Design donates 25% of the night's proceeds right back to your cause with Paint It Forward. And if you want to get the kids involved in one of the classes, there's even Art Buzz Kids for all of the excitement of an expert-led painting party without the alcohol.
Imagine taking a few hours out of your Myrtle Beach vacation to meet new people, become the next Monet, and enjoy some bubbly in the process and then be able to hang a reminder of your fun-filled time right in your own home. At Wine & Design, when the wine flows, so does the creativity.
