Fun things to do in Myrtle Beach: Serve up some Tennis!
There are tons to do for fun when you’re vacationing in Myrtle Beach, from hanging out by the pool to shopping, golf and minigolf and just enjoying the Grand Strand’s gorgeous beaches. But plenty of folks also like to enjoy their favorite sports when they’re on vacation. One example is tennis players spending time in Myrtle Beach enjoying the dual benefits of great weather and a great workout. The last of which helps to make up for those delicious vacation splurges!
Luckily, one of the best tennis facilities on the east coast is located on the Grand Strand: Litchfield Beach & Golf Resort’s Litchfield Racquet Club. It has 17 clay Har-Tru courts, three of which are lighted for night-time play, and a staff of some of the best USPTA/USPTR certified tennis pros in the region on hand to provide top-notch instruction.
The Litchfield Racquet Club isn’t just a great place for adults in the family to play tennis, it’s also home to the Litchfield Tennis School, an acclaimed institution that can be customized to the player and the skill level. Both three-day/nine-hour weekend and four-day/12 hour weekday schools are available year-round.
Another option for visiting tennis enthusiasts is the Myrtle Beach Tennis Center, which boasts 10 courts, eight of which are lighted for night play, as well as a pro shop. The City of Myrtle Beach also offers an affordable 40 LUV Junior Summer Camp for kids aged 5-12. Visit www.cityofmyrtlebeach.com/tennis for pricing and dates.
Visitors to the area can also drop in on adult tennis clinics at the Myrtle Beach Tennis Center Monday through Thursday mornings and Thursday evenings. And if you’re just looking to play doubles and meet some people, give the Myrtle Beach Tennis Center Adult Socials a try. The events are all about friendly competition and are held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday nights and only cost $5.
