Unless you have friends or family in town, you’ll need a place to stay during marathon weekend. Lucky for you, several area hotels are offering special rates for runners.
And there’s definitely one here for you, but it all depends on what you need. For example, if you need a shuttle to and from the starting line, be sure to book one of the resorts that will be offering one. Otherwise, you know the drill – figure out your budget, decide whether you need to be oceanfront, whether you need breakfast, and book away!
About a mile down the street from the starting line, The Breakers has been a Myrtle Beach favorite for decades. For marathoners, the resort will be offering free shuttle service to and from, a high carb dinner the night before at their on-site restaurant, and breakfast before the big run. Rates start at $79 for Resort View, $89 for Oceanfront rooms, and $99 for Oceanfront suites.
Amenities at this oceanfront resort include full kitchens, wi-fi, in-room safes, and much more. And for runners, ocean view efficiencies are starting at $69, and suites at $75. Shuttle service will be available and Caravelle also has an-onsite restaurant.
This resort is offering 25% off for all marathon participants. In addition to the discount, guests can enjoy free shuttle service and a breakfast buffet for two each morning.
$99 gets you an oceanfront efficiency with two queen-size beds, a kitchen, and a scenic balcony, if you’re a marathoner that is. And if you have any energy after the race, head back to the hotel and enjoy one of Myrtle Beach’s biggest water parks, which is fully-enclosed in the winter. Shuttle service provided.
Myrtle Beach Marathon rates at this oceanfront resort range from $54 to $84, depending on how many beds you need and whether you want to be oceanfront or not. There’s also an on-site restaurant that is convenient for breakfast, and the hotel is just about a mile from the starting line, so the free shuttle ride won’t take very long.
The third least expensive rooms on the list can be had at this oceanfront resort. For $60/night, runners will get free shuttle service to the race and the airport, free wi-fi, exercise facilty, indoor pool, video arcade, and on-site dining.
As the host hotel, Sheraton is where the HTC Runner’s Expo will take place on Thursday and Friday. In addition to shuttle service to and from the race, rooms are going for $126/night for single or double occupancy, $136 for triple, and $146 for quadruple.
Located two-and-a-half miles from the starting line this hotel will begin serving a complimentary continental breakfast (biscuits and gravy, eggs and sausage, waffles) at 4am. Rates start at $67.49 for standard rooms, and $90.89 for oceanfront, and shuttle service will be provided.
One perk at this hotel is the variety of food that they offer for breakfast, including omelets, waffles, yogurt, cereal, breakfast burritos, oatmeal, biscuits and gravy, French toast, and more. Nightly rates for runners will be $109 for one night, $99 for two nights, $89 for three, with a King Suite upgrade for $10 more. Shuttle available.
This Broadway at the Beach hotel will offer shuttle service, but since it’s just half a mile from the start-finish line, you might not even need it. In addition to special marathon rates, Fairfield will be giving runners a complimentary swag bag, which will include an energy bar, bottled water, and a goody. There will also be a complimentary breakfast buffet, and to-go breakfast bags for those that over-sleep their alarms.
Located three miles from the starting point of the race, this upscale hotel is offering oceanfront rooms with two queen beds for $149. They’ll also be complimentary breakfast and shuttle service.
