Three Best Bakeries in Myrtle Beach!
When you’re on vacation, it’s the perfect time to treat yourself. Spend that extra hour lounging by the pool, sleep in and order dessert. After all, we’re pretty sure we read somewhere that calories don’t count when you’re on vacation.
To help you find the most delectable desserts in Myrtle Beach, we’ve surveyed some locals and come up with a list of the best bakeries in Myrtle Beach. You can’t miss by stopping in at these shops for a freshly baked bite of heaven!
Kudzu Bakery & Market
7223 N. Kings Highway, Myrtle Beach
Kudzu Bakery has been a Georgetown institution for approximately 25 years, and now it has also expanded to include locations in Pawley’s Island and Mount Pleasant in addition to the Myrtle Beach location, which opened in March 2013. Kudzu offers freshly-baked takes on southern specialties, including: red velvet and caramel pecan cake; lemon chess pie; key lime pie; pecan pie; peach pecan cookies; pecan sandies; and more.
“Our products are hand made and consistent in quality, ingredients and taste, but not necessarily in shape or appearance. They look homemade,” according to the owners, Joey and Stacy Rabon. Before you visit, you can check the bread schedule to see whether your favorite will be baked that day, whether you’re looking for a loaf of buttermilk white bread, honey wheat, cinnamon raisin, or tomato onion.
Croissants Bistro & Bakery
3751 Robert M. Grissom Parkway, Myrtle Beach
This bakery and restaurant is a local’s favorite that’s a little off the beaten tourist path—but don’t let that keep you away. The cakes, cookies, brownies and breads are consistently rated the best at the beach! Some favorite offerings include a coconut custard cake, chocolate raspberry torte and key lime pie. The pound cakes are also delicious, whether you go for the plain, lemon, or amaretto.
But Croissants is also a great place to enjoy dinner, with a bistro menu fairly unique along the Grand Strand, with offerings such as bistro chicken with Boursin cheese and prosciutto and onion and bacon tart sure to make your mouth water!
Toffino’s Italian Bakery & Deli
550 Farrow Parkway, Myrtle Beach
This bakery and delis is located just on the outskirts of the shopping, entertainment and dining destination the Market Common—but don’t let its location fool you. This is a destination worth its own trip, offering some of the best sandwiches and breakfast goodies, pizzas and sweets you can find in Myrtle Beach. Many a Yankee (and we use the term with love) has been shocked and delighted to discover that you can get a cannoli so authentically good in Myrtle Beach. The tiramisu, Italian cookies and strawberry cake also garner high praise from locals and visitors.
