What’s New This Year at Broadway at the Beach
Broadway at the Beach — the 350-acre, all-in-one destination for dining, shopping and entertainment on the Grand Strand — is growing even bigger this year.
What this means for return visitors is a whole new experience at the familiar favorite that attracts more than 14 million folks a year; what this means for newcomers is another reason to make your Myrtle Beach vacation a recurring one.
Lei Gainer, spokeswoman for Broadway at the Beach, helped us out by highlighting some of the new attractions coming to the “festival entertainment complex” soon:
This summer, look for Rooster Bar & Grill a the entrance of Celebrity Square. Chicken-based dishes are the specialty here, and the inventive menu will delight your whole crew. (For those not familiar with the area, you’ll notice a lot of rooster themes around Myrtle Beach, thanks to nearby Coastal Carolina University’s “Chanticleer” mascot).
For the shoppers among us, the new spot Vividelle offers women’s clothing, footwear and accessories, while Designer Sunglasses will certainly give you a reason to treat yourself to a fun new pair while you’re on vacation. So Unique!, opening soon, sells embroidery gifts, and for the kids (and youthful types), head to Kryptonite for all sorts of cartoon, comic book, TV and movie goodies.
If Kryptonite has left Supermom or Superdad a little, uh, depleted, waltz into Coastal Carolina Winery for an array of traditional tipples to sample and purchase. They are also scheduled to open this spring.
For the adrenaline lovers, the amusement rides are being renovated and will include the new Speed, Freak-Out, and Rocket Flyer options. Also check out the Giant Slide, which is exactly what it sounds like, at 65-feet tall and 180-feet long and is billed as one of the largest dry slides on the East Coast. Wow.
The following stores and restaurants are being remodeled or renovated soon.
-A Silver Shack
-Ben & Jerry’s
-Fric ’N Frac
-Myrtle Beach Harley-Davidson
-Original Shuckers Raw Bar
-Yamato Steakhouse Japan
