Ever hear someone boast about finding a quaint little place that makes the best Italian in town? For many years this was Ciao! This family owned and operated establishment began humbly as a sandwich shop/dinner, but quickly took a turn to the latter once folks got a taste of the food. The secret is out.
If you like your Italian favorites the homemade way, Ciao! Is the place for you. Generous portions of lasagna and spaghetti and meatballs are piled high on plates that usually go back to the kitchen empty. Of course, the close proximity to the ocean allows Ciao! to prepare excellent seafood dishes, featuring shrimp, scallops, calamari and fresh-catch fish. Ciao also offers a nice selection of veal, lamb, beef and chicken, preparing them in one of seven ways – Parmesan, Marsala, Picatta, Lemone, Cacciatore, Florentine of the house-special Ciao – breaded then stacked with grilled zucchini, roasted red peppers and mozzarella cheese, topped with their famous marinara sauce, then baked. A full bar and wine list are available.
Although efforts have been made to transform the former deli into a more upscale venue, Ciao! maintains its humble hospitality. The dining area is small and can be cramped during busy days and nights, but it adds to the friendly atmosphere. Ciao! draws a large early bird crowd but thins out later in the evening.Open
