Duplin Winery

When most people think about drinking wine in a formal setting, visions of overly-dressed prudes comes to mind. Luckily, Duplin Winery in North Myrtle Beach is neither formal nor prudish.

Instead, it’s a fun and laid-back place to sample some user-friendly wines from North Carolina’s oldest and largest producer of the grape-based drink. With an award-winning wine-making history dating back to 1975, Duplin saw a gap in the wine market on the Grand Strand and decided to open a 15,000 square foot facility adjacent to Barefoot Landing that serves as a tasting room, retail space, and tour-able bottling area.

As for wines, Duplin’s line is close to 40 Muscadines strong, with clever names like Midnight Magnolia, Queen Anne’s Revenge, Sweet Sox White, Bald Head Red, and Positively Pink. Guests can stop in for a tour of the facilities, enjoy a few samples, pick up a couple of bottles for later, and have a great time while doing so.

“Cool, Sweet, and Easy,” is their motto, and after spending just a few minutes with the welcoming crew at Duplin, you’ll understand just why. For more, check out this Myrtle Beach.com original video tour of Duplin Winery.
