Alabama Theatre

The Alabama Theatre has been entertaining crowds at Barefoot Landing for more than a quarter-century. The theater’s roots run deep on the Grand Strand, as well as in the world of country music.

Named after the country music super-group that got its start in Myrtle Beach back in the 1970s, the Alabama Theatre serves as a tribute to CMA Hall of Fame band Alabama and the tradition of country that gained them worldwide fame and acclaim. After finding their sound as the house band at the historic Bowery in downtown Myrtle Beach, Alabama went on to take over country music in the 1980s and ’90s, posting 30 No. 1 hits.

In 1993, the band returned to its humble beginnings with a not-so-humble construction – the Alabama Theatre. The palatial, 2,000-seat facility features talented casts of singers, dancers and performers, as well as first-class seating, lighting and sound, making it a popular place to catch a show or concert in North Myrtle Beach.

Featuring the long-running classic “One: The Show” and the traditional “The South’s Grandest Christmas Show”, the Alabama Theatre also welcomes top touring artists, including past appearances by big names in country music like Vince Gill, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, Kenny Chesney, Martina McBride, Merle Haggard, LaAnn Rimes and the self-titled band itself.

The Alabama Theatre has expanded its horizons from the country genre in recent years, including performances by Motown legends Little Richard, The Temptations and the Four Tops and rockers Jerry Lee Lewis, Three Dog Night and Gordon Lightfoot. Famous comedians such as Jay Leno, Larry the Cable Guy, Bill Engvall and local product Ricky Mokel have also graced the stage.

The Alabama Theatre is located in the Barefoot Landing complex in North Myrtle Beach. Featuring lots of shopping, dining and entertainment options, Barefoot Landing is the perfect place for a family to spend the day before catching an award-winning show at the Alabama Theatre. Check the Alabama Theatre website for information on show times, guest show dates, ticket information, seating charts, and more.
