Located right in the heart of the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, the Myrtle Beach SkyWheel offers incredible soaring and panoramic views so you can see Myrtle Beach in a completely different way. The Myrtle Beach SkyWheel opened its doors in 2011 to offer both locals and tourists a way to see the Atlantic Ocean and more in an exciting, new way. Ever since the SkyWheel first opened it has forever changed the downtown of the iconic Myrtle Beach skyline. The Myrtle Beach SkyWheel stands 200 feet above the ocean and features 42 climate-controlled, enclosed gondolas, which hold up to 6 passengers.
This SkyWheel was the first and largest of its kind to be built in the United States. Each of the gondolas on the SkyWheel features non-reflective glass which makes it perfect to take photos of the beach and the surrounding shore while up in the air. Rides are priced at $16.99 for people ages 12 and older and cost $12.99 for everyone ages 3 to 11.
Each gondola can hold up to 6 passengers. However, separate parties will not be combined if you have less than 6 in your party. This eliminates the possibility of riding with strangers!
VIP flights on the SkyWheel cost $54.99 for adults and only $35.99 for children. VIP flights are a great option and allow riders to skip the line, and ride in an all-glass gondola that even features glass floors! The VIP gondolas also feature leather bucket seats. VIP riders can experience the SkyWheel for a double ride and a free photo that helps commemorate the entire experience. The VIP gondola only seats up to 4 passengers.
In addition to the VIP experience, the SkyWheel also offers a Rise and Flight experience on select dates for early birds wanting to experience a beautiful sunrise over the Atlantic. The sunrise experience is only 30 minutes long but includes coffee and pastries for all guests to enjoy. The Rise and Flight Experience cost is $49.99 for adults and $29.99 for children.
In addition to the many different kinds of rides offered at the SkyWheel, this stunning exhibit also lights up the beach with a nightly light show. The SkyWheel lights can also be turned into a gender reveal or a proposal with the proposal package! The SkyWheel is also decorated with red bows and green garlands during the holidays.
Featured as a part of the SkyWheel is the Landshark Bar & Grill, a Jimmy Buffett restaurant that serves burgers, sandwiches, salads, and more along with cold drinks.
