The name at this north end bistro should give you some idea of what’s going on here, but what it doesn’t let on to is the list of culinary delights that fans of fine fermented grape juice can enjoy while sipping a red, white, or pink. In addition to establishing itself as one of the premier wine tasting venues in town, Boom Boom also offers a menu of small plates, salads, stackables, and cheeses that pair perfectly with your favorite glass.
The menu here is short and sweet, but full of unique bites. From the Savories (Small Plates) section, guests can choose from highlights like the Billy Goat Flatbread with goat cheese, pesto, caramelized onions, sausage, and basil; Braised Short Rib over a parmesan grit cake; Baked Lamb and Pork Meatballs in a tomato sauce with parmesan, ricotta, and basil; or the Baked Teriyaki Wings with zucchini sticks and house-made bleu cheese. For something lighter, check out the Garden of Eden (Salads) for items like the Panzanella (heirloom tomatoes, basil, garlic, aged balsamic, olive oil, house croutons), Boom Boom Wedge Salad (caramelized bacon, housemade balsamic vinaigrette, bleu cheese, tomatoes), and the Chop Chop Salad (romaine, apples, celery, zucchini, red peppers, pecans, figs, bacon, housemade fig balsamic vinaigrette). The Stackables and Must-Haves list is full of more traditional wine-tasting fare, like California Olives, Spiced Pecans, a Charcuterie (prosciutto, salami, mortadella, bresaola) with Fig Preserves and Cornichons, and an Artisinal Cheese Plate of parmesan reggiano, brie, huntsman, and castigliano. And if you’re prone to a sweet tooth while imbibing, save some room for one of their Housemade Desserts, like the Dark Chocolate Ganache Cupcake, Petite Chocolate Mouse, Boom Boom’s Original Bananas Foster Crème Brulee, or a nice scoop of Cinnamon Ice Cream.
Located across Business 17 from Collectors Café and Fire & Smoke Gastropub, the addition of Boom Boom to the block has turned this area into a hot spot for those looking for upscale casual places to try some new wine and have a few bites. Boom Boom’s exterior doesn’t duly prepare guests for the contemporary chic interior that features exposed duct work, white brick, and an elegant candle-lined bar. It’s an intimate space, perhaps highlighted by the Enomatic controlled-temperature wine-serving system that houses all of the bottles available for glass pour, and the local art that hangs from the walls. So whether you’re craving a glass or two after work, or a shared bottle and some small plates among friends, check out Boom Boom Wine Room, one of the Grand Strand’s best new establishments for fancy fun.
