Sports and Buffalo wings, two great American institutions, are the centerpiece of this national chain. With televisions literally everywhere and over 20 sauces and seasonings to choose from, Buffalo Wild Wings is the place to go when your needs are a) To see the game(s), and b) eat lots of wings.
You might think – which came first, the chicken or the sauce? Well it was the chicken, duh. And in the beginning there was just one sauce. Buffalo. But apparently not everybody liked it.
The sauces and seasonings here are color-coated on the menu in order of spicyness and range from Salt and Vinegar Seasoning (dark green, mild) to Blazin’ (deep red, very spicy). In addition to variations on the classic namesake sauce (Mild, Medium, Hot, Buffalo Seasoning), the list covers several international cuisines, from Italian (Parmesan Garlic) and Mexican (Jammin’ Jalapeno), to Asian (Thai Curry, Asian Zing, Teriyaki) and Caribbean (Caribbean Jerk). There are also four variations of barbecue sauce (Sweet, Honey, Chipotle, Hot) and some trade-marked original flavors (Mango Habanero, Desert Heat).
But in case you’ve dragged someone with you who doesn’t want wings, there are plenty of appetizers and sandwiches to choose from. Highlights from the lengthy Sharables menu include Ultimate Nachos, Mini Corn Dogs, Roasted Garlic Mushrooms, and Cheese Curds, and there are also four Flatbreads to choose from – Parmesan Garlic Chicken, Spinach Artichoke Chicken, Buffalo Chicken, and Five Cheese Italian Pepperoni.
The Satisfying Sandwich offerings include Jerk Chicken, Pulled Pork, and Buffalo Ranch Chicken, as well as three Build Your Own options (Grilled Chicken, Crispy Chicken, Fish) where guests personalize their meal with choice of toppings, cheese, and sauce. Beefy Burger highlights include the Screamin’ Nacho Burger (two patties, chipotle bbq seasoning, tortilla chips, pepper jack, jalapenos, pico, and southwestern ranch) and the Big Jack Daddy Burger (patty, pulled pork, fried onion rings, cheddar jack, honey bbq).
If you’re looking for somewhere to have a quiet date night, this is not the place. The atmosphere at BWW is very involved, with too many screens to count, an arcade game center, and a noise-level that cannot be negotiated with. That said, if you’re a die-hard American sports fan, this place is the pinnacle of everything you know to be right in the world.
