Two different experiences are available at this Restaurant Row eatery. Belly up to one of the communal hibachi tables and prepare yourself for a display of masterful culinary skills and hot off the grill meats, veggies, and rice. Or take a table in the sushi bar area for a more intimate night fresh fish.
Let’s start with the hibachi style. The meal is a multi-course affair, starting with soup, salad, and a shrimp appetizer before you decide what your main entrée will be. The choices are plenty, and combinations are the popular thing to do. Choose from Teriyaki Chicken, Hibachi Steak, Sirloin, Ribeye, Filet Mignon, Samurai Steak, Hibachi Shrimp, Hibachi Scallop, Calamari, Lobster, or their Fresh Catch. Vegetables and Tofu options are also available, and the meats can be mixed and matched to your preference. All entrees come with a heaping serving of fried or steamed rice and mixed vegetables like zucchini, onions, and carrots.
The specialty sushi roll menu is long and, in addition to the standards like California Roll, Spider Roll, Rainbow Roll, there are numerous fun and originally-named rolls to choose from. The One Hot Kani-Kama Mama Roll is crab, cream cheese, cucumber, avocado, and spicy aioli on the inside with more sauce and tempura flakes on the outside. The Sweet Success Roll is shrimp tempura, avocado, cucumber, crab, cream cheese, and mango on the inside with sesame seeds adding some texture on the outside.
Sushi (raw fish over rice) and Sashimi (sliced raw fish) are also available and the list includes everything from Sweet Shrimp and Yellowtail to Spanish Mackerel and Flounder.
Again, your experience will differ greatly depending on what you want to eat. The hibachi grill seating often provides a fun experience where you can meet some new friends. And the sushi seating is more private, suitable for a quaint date night.
