You don’t get any more authentic Irish cuisine and pub on this side of the Atlantic Ocean than Flynn’s. Named for the family of Ireland natives who own and operate the restaurant and bar, Flynn’s has become a favorite among locals and visiting golfers. Housed in the former North Myrtle Beach Jail, the building is home to much better food and times these days.
Irish classics meet American favorites on this menu with something for everyone. Much like American Southern cooking, Irish cuisine is the soul food of Europe. Today people call it “comfort food,” which is a pretty good description of Flynn’s extensive menu. From bangers and mash (pork sausage with grilled onions, mashed potatoes and Guiness gravy) to Shepherd’s Pie (layers of beef, mashed potatoes and Guiness gravy), Flynn’s delivers ideal traditional Irish dishes. For more Americanized offerings, try the Bacon-Wrapped Meat Loaf and the Liver and Onions. True to the Irish theme, Flynn’s also has a full bar lined with imported drafts and Irish whiskeys.
First-time visitors will swear they’ve stepped into a local pub in Ireland. The wooden bar area is a warm and friendly gathering spot, the dining room is small and intimate and the new outdoor bar area is reserved for good times and weather, with dart boards, pool tables and a full bar. You will feel like family at Flynn’s.
