This popular Market Common spot has earned its loyal following with German lagers brewed on-site, outdoor seating, and a creative, exhaustive menu. Numerous medals at the World Beer Cup and Great American Beer Festivals attest to the attention Gordon Biersch pays to its product.
The menu is made up of ten sections and offers an array of culinary options, covering pretty much all of the bases. Starters include chips, egg rolls, soups, wings, sliders, dips, and a Lobster and Jumbo Lump Crab Cake. But those aren’t the only appetizers – flatbreads and salads are also available as first course choices. The main courses are divided into six sections (Chef’s Favorites, Housemade Tacos, Entrees, On the Lighter Side, Knife & Fork Burgers, and Sandwiches) and include highlights like Seared Ahi Tuna with kale and quinoa pilaf, Cajun Fish Tacos, Fish and Chips, NY Strip, Bourbon Salmon, Sweet and Spicy Cashew Chicken Stir Fry, Kobe Black and Bleu Burger, and a Chicken Pesto Panini. Dessert offerings include Strawberry Cheesecake, a Triple Chocolate Brownie, and a Warm Apple Bread Pudding.
This eatery/brew pub stays pretty busy. The dining room is large, so getting a table isn’t usually an issue, but finding a seat at the bar is sometimes just a matter of luck. A boisterous environment usually comes with every crowd of beer enthusiasts, and Gordon Biersch is no exception. However, the outdoor seating can be a quieter and more relaxing experience on nice days.
