Hana Teppanyaki

Located in a growing section of Carolina Forest, Hana Teppanyaki offers a wide selection of Japanese and Asian dishes in an unlikely strip-mall setting. Locally owned and operated, Hana Teppenyaki translates as “flower” – a reference to the fresh, aromatic atmosphere – and “iron skillet cooking” – a method used to create authentic Japanese cuisine. Open for lunch and dinner, Hana Teppanyaki offers a unique dining experience.

Hana Teppanyaki House Food

True to its philosophy of generous portions, many of the appetizers can count as a meal. The Tempura Soft Shell Crab, Crispy Asian Shrimp and Scallops Dynamite are popular selections, and the Gyoza features six fried dumplings stuffed with beef, pork and vegetables. Miso soup and Seaweed salads are also good pre-meal options, but go easy on the starters if you plan to order a hibachi dinner, which allows guests to choose between filet mignon, chicken, shrimp, scallops, lobster and more cooked before your eyes and served with fried rice or noodles. Hot sake and teas are available, as well as a full bar and an extensive wine list. Lunch orders are smaller but equally delicious. Hana Teppanyaki also specializes in its own house sauces and dressings, which are also sold to go for foodies who want to try to duplicate the flavor in their own kitchens. Top-sellers include the Mayo Sauce, Hot Sauce, and Mustard Sauce and the Ginger, Teriyaki and Soy Dressings.

Hana Teppanyaki House Atmosphere

Hana Teppanyaki overcomes its strip-mall location with a clean, elegant environment that’s straight out of the Orient. Featuring stark white walls and table clothes with dark wood booths, tables and mirror casings, Hana Teppanyaki delivers a formal atmosphere for a family-casual restaurant. Like most hibachi-style restaurant, the dining room can be a bit active but the ambiance and tableside service make for an enjoyable experience.
