The International House of Pancakes, an all-day and all-night diner, is essentially a healthier, way less greasy cousin of Waffle House. The menu is absolutely huge, picks up new additions seasonally, and offers everything from breakfast staples like pancakes and waffles to heartier meals like sandwiches and steaks. They also serve separate menus for the 55-and-up crowd, kids, and those looking for something Simple & Fit.

With pancakes in the name of the restaurant, it’s probably safe to say that flapjacks are their specialty, and options include Rooty Tooty Fresh N’ Fruity, New York Cheesecake, Chocolate Chocolate Chip, Harvest Grain N’ Nut, and several other tasty and unique styles. The Belgian Waffle includes all of the standards in addition to unique dishes like Chicken and Waffles and a Bananas and Cream Waffle. The list of Crepes goes both ways (sweet and savory), from Strawberries & Cream to Chicken, Bacon, and White Cheddar.

For eggs, IHOP has numerous attractive Omelettes, including the Hearty Ham & Cheese, the Chorizo Fiesta, and the Colorado (bacon, sausage, shredded beef, ham, onions, peppers, and cheddar). Egg Combos are also available pretty much however, and with whatever you want – scrambled, fried, bacon, steak, pancakes, waffles, hash browns, you name it.

Several versions of French Toast are on the menu, and each one looks meaner than the next. Whether you like it Stuffed, Bananas Foster-style, or Berry Berry Brioche, they’ve got the flavor to meet your needs.

The Sandwich and Burger options are standards done right, and include a Spicy Chicken Ranch, Philly Cheese Steak Stacker, Double BLT,  Bleu Cheese and Bacon Cheeseburger, and all of the other basics in those categories. Those in the mood for something a little more formal can choose from Dinner Classics like Chicken Parmesan, Tilapia Florentine, and Country Fried Steak.

The Simple & Fit menu has three customizable meals that come in at under 600 calories. Healthy eaters can choose from the Blueberry Harvest Grain N’ Nut Combo, Vegetable Omelette, and the Two Egg Breakfast with fruit. The 55-and-up menu is basically composed of smaller-portioned versions of other dinners, while Kids can choose from options like a Funny Face Pancake, Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, a Grilled Cheese, Cheeseburger, and other kid-type stuff.

IHOP Atmosphere

This is typically a pretty clean, well-lighted place with fast, polite service. It is kid-friendly, so it’s not always the quietest restaurant in town, but if you’re looking for a tasty, budget-conscious dining option that has something for everyone, IHOP is one of your best bets, day or night.
