Mango’s on the Beach has made a rather remarkable transformation from beach bar to oceanfront café, including the addition of the dining room inside the adjoining Sand Dunes Resort. The ocean view is still spectacular, but now Mango’s has a menu to match.
Gone is the old bar-food lineup, replaced by a fine-dining menu featuring fresh seafood and steaks flash-flamed by a new high-tech infra-red grill that perfectly cooks your steak to order. Try the Pan-Baked Herb-Encrusted Grouper or the Steamed Crab Legs in clarified butter and Cajun spices. Land-food lovers should check out the Mango Royal Ribeye topped with Gorgonzola butter or the Baby Back Ribs. Or enjoy the best of both with a surf-and-turf combo of Filet and Crab Cake or the New York Strip with Garlic Parmesan Shrimp. Mango’s also serves a wide selection of starters, salads and sandwiches, such as the spicy but tasty Buffalo Shrimp Po Boy. The dinner-only eatery also features a full bar and an extensive wine list, as well as occasional live entertainment.
Mango’s magical transformation included a switch from flip-flop casual to a more upscale, elegant environment. But it’s still a fun atmosphere as diners venture to the patio deck after their meal for a frozen drink or to hear some live music at the beach bar.
