Founded in 1993, this New York-style deli caters to visitors, transplants, and locals who find themselves craving a taste of the Big Apple.
Family-owned and operated from the beginning, Manny’s serves deli fare good enough for The Food Dude to label it “The best deli this side of the Mason-Dixon line.”
The menu here focuses on the basics – subs, sandwiches, wraps, and salads – but, like any deli worth its salt, Manny’s mixes in some original flare as well.
Specialty Subs are available in 6’, 12’, or in a wrap, and the list includes highlights like the Long Islander (homemade chicken salad, bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayo), The Godfather (cappicola, salami, pepperoni, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion, oil & vinegar, Italian dressing), and Manny’s (turkey, ham, bologna, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo), in addition to standards like the Turkey Sub, Ham Sub, and Club.
The offerings on the Grilled & Hot Specialties list span pretty much all the meats you’d ever want from a deli, covering preparations like Parmigana (Veal, Meatball, Chicken), Grilled meat and cheese (Steak, Chicken & Ham, Pastrami, Pork Loin) and BBQ (Chicken, Beef, Steak, Pork). Other items include a Cheeseburger Sub, Hot Turkey & Gravy, Roast Beef Supreme, and Filet of Flounder.
For Salads, Manny’s offers homemade Tuna Salad, Chicken Salad, Egg Salad, Macaroni Salad, and Pasta Salad, in addition to Garden Salads (served with any of the aforementioned), Grilled or Fried Chicken Salad, and a Turkey & Pasta Salad.
If it doesn’t look like much from the outside, that’s because the emphasis here is on the food. The décor inside is minimal, just like many of the delis in New York. But this isn’t a place you go to wowed by fancy decorations and lush seating options – you go to Manny’s to have a proper deli meal.
