This regional chain of hibachi-style Japanese houses has two locations on the Grand Strand – one on the north end on Restaurant Row and the other on the south side in Murrells Inlet. Both are busy with local and tourist traffic, and for good reason. The food, service and atmosphere are excellent.
Guests get a ring-side seat to skilled hibachi chefs in action as they playfully tease their tables’ taste buds with fried rice, vegetables and combinations of shrimp, steak, chicken, pork, scallops and more. The chefs make for a fun dining experience, tossing food from the grill into customers’ mouths and creating a flaming volcano with their food. Combination dinners include soup, salad, appetizer, rice, zucchini, onions and your choice of 10 different meats. Patrons also can order from a more traditional menu and special board, and the sushi bar serves some of the best on the Strand. Nightly specials are available, as well as a discounted early bird menu that can save some serious bucks for large parties. Miyabi has an extensive wine list, including premium hot and cold sakes, and wide beer selection.
Miyabi’s Oriental décor and dimly lit dining area create the right mood for a night of fun and food around the hibachi grill. The crowd can get a bit loud but it’s all in good fun. A quieter dining experience can be found in the sushi bar area or at more traditional tables in the back of the restaurant.
