Located on the historic Second Avenue Pier in downtown Myrtle Beach, The Pier House offers one of the best views on the Grand Strand. With large pane-glass windows overlooking the Atlantic on three sides, you’re sure to have an ocean view. For a breath of fresh ocean air, visit the Pier View Bar upstairs.
The Pier House serves three meals a day, beginning with a great breakfast and view of sunrise over the Atlantic. Omelets, shrimp and grits, banana pancakes and all the traditional first-meal favorites are on the menu, or go for a lighter alternative such as fresh fruit or a cup of coffee. Lunch offers a solid lineup of salads, burgers and sandwiches, such as the Georgetown Grouper Reuben or Folly Fish Tacos. Dinner puts a bit more of the focus on seafood, with combination platters of fish, shrimp, crab and oysters among the more popular items. Appetizers are available at the upstairs bar.
The dress code is casual but the restaurant and bar area could pass for fine dining. Huge plate-glass windows allow for lots of light and beautiful views and the black and wood interiors create a classic look and feel. The upstairs bar is a bit more laid-back and attracts a nice happy hour crowd. With a view like this, it’s hard to have a bad vibe.
