What began as a humble New Orleans steak house nearly 50 years ago is now an international chain of more than 140 stores worldwide. The Myrtle Beach outlet is located at the prestigious Grande Dunes Marina, featuring a great view to match the great steaks.
Ruth’s Chris is famous for its seasoned and charbroiled steaks, featuring various cuts of USDA prime beef broiled at 1800 degrees and served on a sizzling skillet of melted butter. It’s that distinct flavor that allows Ruth’s Chris to get away with a high-end, a la carte menu that is not for the coupon-clippers. This upscale eatery’s steaks range from the $35 petite filet to the $87 porterhouse for two. Cheaper alternatives include the $29 salmon or the $24 stuffed chicken breast, or those torn between the land, sea and air can get the mixed grill for $37. But that doesn’t include salads or sides. Ruth’s Chris has a wide selection of both. The Chop House Salad can be a meal in itself for vegetarians or bargain-shoppers at $9.50, and the one-pound potatoes are big enough to share. Add grilled onions or sautéed mushrooms to make your steak extra special and wash it down with something from the full bar or the long wine list.
Ruth’s Chris is upscale and elegant, perfect for special occasions or romantic nights out on the town. Myrtle Beach’s version is a bit more laid back and the views of the Intracoastal Waterway also make it nice, scenic place to watch sunset.
