This Forestbrook-area eatery is the suburban equivalent of a corner deli, serving up fresh Boar’s Head deli meats and busting customer’s chops (in a friendly way, of course). Open for breakfast and lunch, Ryan’s is a NY-style deli serving everything from omelets and quesadillas in the morning, to subs and sandwiches in the afternoon.
Stop in for breakfast and choose from a large variety of egg dishes, pancakes, and quesadillas. Highlights from the Omelet menu include the Farmer’s (ham, bacon, sausage, potatoes), Italian (sausage, peppers, onions, potatoes), and Mexican (tomatoes, jalapenos, salsa, onion).
For Pancakes and French Toast, choose a tall or short stack and add on some bacon, ham, sausage, or Taylor ham. Quesadilla options are essentially the same as Omelet combos, and come with Jack cheese and a side of salsa.
For lunch, Ryan’s offers Sandwiches (hot and cold), Subs, Paninis, Salads, Soups, and Wraps (on request).
Sandwich meats include bologna, liverwurst, oven roasted or pepper mill turkey, oven roasted or Cajun beef, genoa or hard salami, spice or Taylor ham, smoked or salsalito turkey, honey or ham cappicola, prosciutto, ham, oven roasted chicken, and chicken cutlets, each with your choice of toppings, obviously.
Specialty Subs are served on white or wheat, and highlights include The Godfather (prosciutto, ham, cappicola, mozzarella), The Cowboy (Cajun beef, Cajun turkey, jack cheese), and The Italian Stallion (salami, pepperoni, cappicola, mozzarella).
Ryan’s also makes plenty of salads that can be had there or at home. Choose from Egg Salad, Tuna Salad, Shrimp or Seafood Salad, Chicken Salad, Chef’s Salad, or Greek Salad.
And for Paninis, the options include all of the obvious choices (Turkey, Chicken, Beef, Italian, Cuban) as well as a Buffalo Chicken, Sloppy Turkey (cole slaw, Swiss, Russian dressing), and Russian.
This is a clean, well-lighted place with owners who are friendly folks that joke around with their regulars. A lot of customers take advantage of take out, while others prefer to eat it where they get it. As with many Myrtle Beach restaurants, Ryan’s is located in a strip mall down the row from Food Lion. But here, that’s pretty much par for the course.
