Located at Broadway at the Beach, Sweet Carolina’s brings the best tastes of the Palmetto
State to the masses. Opened only in 2012 in the old State Fair Foods building, Sweet
Carolina’s underwent a massive renovation that transformed this eatery into a unique
dining experience at Broadway. The smell of burning hickory and pecan wood in the smoker
alone attracts hungry folks to the front door.
South Carolina is proud of its seafood and barbecue, and both are featured prominently at
Sweet Carolina’s. Traditional Lowcountry dishes like the shrimp and grits, crab cakes and
gumbo are served alongside “land-food” options like pulled-pork barbecue, ribs and
chicken. The South Carolina theme weaves its way through the lunch and dinner menus,
with popular selections like the blackened shrimp wrap and pulled-pork sandwich joining
spicy catfish bites and chicken gumbo on the lunch and lighter side of the lineup. Be sure to
save some room for dessert, like the pecan pie and banana pudding.
Sweet Carolina’s offers a unique Southern-style environment amid a sea of theme
restaurants at Broadway. Featuring a spacious front porch for relaxing in the shade and
people-watching and a cozy interior of modern yet simple décor, guests can take a break
from shopping and relax in this family/casual establishment.
