Tavern in the Forest

True, it’s a bar. And there’s food. But here they put a little more effort into it and offer a much wider variety than the average bar in Myrtle Beach.
This neighborhood joint has been popular among the Carolina Forest crowd ever since opening. On any given night you might find game-watching regulars, karaoke-singing party people, or crowds of co-workers grabbing a bite.

Tavern in the Forest Food

Many people love to judge a bar by their wings, and those who do that think of the Tavern as a pretty good place to eat. Available in Mild, Medium, Hot, Homemade BBQ, Teriyaki, Honey BBQ, or Garlic Parmesan, the fried chicken here is always a good way to start.

But it’s not the only way. Other apps include things like Dublin Black & Tan Onion Rings, Volcano Nachos (chili, lettuce, cheese, tomato, onion, jalapenos, sour cream, salsa), Mozzarella Caprese, and Tavern Crab Dip.
The four Burgers are also worth mentioning, and options include the Tavern Burger (1/2 pound, choice of lettuce, onion, tomato, cheese) the “Big Al” Burger (Whole pound, double cheese, double toppings), Turkey Burger (1/3 pound, Kaiser roll), and Garden Burger, each of which are served with fries.

For Wraps and Sandwiches, there are twenty-three choices to choose from. There are the standards (Chicken Wrap, Reuben, BLT, etc.) and then there are the sandwiches that most bars don’t offer (Mahi Mahi, Meatloaf, Cheeseburger Wrap, Hot Roast Beef).

The list of Entrees is just as impressive, and highlights include their award-winning Baby Back Ribs, slow-roasted Prime Rib (8oz or 12oz), Salmon (grilled or teriyaki), Country Fried Steak, and the BBQ Platter, which consists of a 1/4 chicken, ribs, shredded pork, with choice of potato or coleslaw.

Tavern in the Forest Atmosphere

The vibe here is a mixed bag depending on what the night’s entertainment centers around – sports, team trivia, karaoke – and can be lively, loud, or sometimes really loud. Seating is available inside and out, so on nice evening’s you might see a crowd enjoying the weather as you drive up. Other than that, it’s a neighborhood bar, so it’s probably best to keep the kids at home after a certain hour.
