This Broadway at the Beach club is the place to be if what you need is a few good laughs during your vacation. Past acts have included celebrity acts like Pauly Shore and Gallagher, plus stand-up comedians from The Tonight Show, Comedy Central, HBO, E!, Showtime, and The Comedians of Chelsea Lately.
If you’re going to make a night of it, which you might as well, Carolina Comedy Club has an innovative food menu (they call it “Our Food Is No Joke”) that is a cut above the normal bar fare. House Specialties include Fried Pepper Jack Cheese Logs with a sweet chili sauce; Sriracha Shrimp Dynamite served over fresh greens; and the Backstage Burger Royal, served with lettuce, tomato, bacon, and cheddar on a pretzel bun with seasoned fries on the side. The menu also features Asian Lettuce Wraps, Cheese-Stuffed Pretzels, and a Backstage Sampler, which is a combination of Cheese Logs, Chicken Fries, BBQ Chicken Wontons, and Fried Pickles.
Recent house performers have included magician Carl Michael and comedian/hypnotist Herb Mccandles. Michael’s all-ages magic show blends reality and illusion to play games with your imagination while producing some laughs along the way. Mccandles, a well-traveled veteran, puts on one of the most memorable hypnosis acts in the country, mesmerizing audiences of all ages.
So after a day in the sun on the beach or poolside, there aren’t many better ways to continue the relaxation than to take in a night of comedy with friends and family.
