Anthony Melchiorri, host of "Hotel Impossible," is bringing his business acumen to Myrtle Beach to solve some problems at the Lancer Motel.

Judging by the TripAdvisor reviews, the Lancer Motel on 6th Avenue N and Business 17 is in desperate need of some repairs, both structurally and managerially. Luckily, Travel Channel is sending in hotel guru Anthony Melchiorri to give the place a much-needed face lift as part of their “Hotel Impossible” series.

Now in its fifth season, the show documents the process of rescuing down-and-out hotels that are moments away from closing up shop. As with many hosts of reality shows that fix businesses, Melchiorri can be harsh and unrelenting; traits that stem from his passion for helping properties turn it around.

This is not the first time a Myrtle Beach property has been featured on “Hotel Impossible.” The Carnival Inn, now known as Waves Hotel, was given the renovation treatment last year before the show aired in May.

“Hotel Impossible” joins several other television shows and movies that have been filmed on the Grand Strand in recent years, including “Trailer Park: Welcome to Myrtle Manor,” “Party Down South,” “Restaurant: Impossibe,” and “Magic Mike XXL.”

There’s no word yet on when the episode will air, but the host will be in town on Friday, June 12th to shoot part of the footage.
