What’s New in Myrtle Beach for 2017

The New Year has officially begun, and here in Myrtle Beach we are looking forward to some exciting changes that are coming or have already come to the area for 2017. Check out this list of what’s new in Myrtle Beach for 2017, and keep your eyes peeled for more information to be added in the future!

Broadway at the Beach

Broadway at the Beach started making some serious changes back in early 2016, but the makeover will still continue well into 2017. Right now, builders are working on constructing a location of Dave & Busters at the former site of the Hard Rock Café pyramid. And, the former Carlos’n Charlie’s building has been demolished to make way for a new Paula Deen restaurant concept.

Panera Bread

Myrtle Beach welcomed the first location of Panera Bread in late 2016, making it a top place to visit in 2017. Panera Bread offers delicious meal options such as soups, sandwiches, salads, and more. The restaurant is located near Kohl’s in Surfside off of Hwy 544.

MOD Pizza

A fun new restaurant concept called MOD Pizza opened in North Myrtle Beach last spring, but a Myrtle Beach location has also opened recently to prepare for the 2017 season. MOD Pizza is a made-to-order pizza joint that offers various sizes of pizzas as well as a myriad of delicious fresh toppings. The Myrtle Beach location is situated adjacent to the new Panera Bread location in Surfside.

Captain D's

Captain D’s has been around in Myrtle Beach for quite some time, but this chain recently opened another location in Surfside Beach at the very end of 2016. Captain D’s is known for serving fast casual fried and grilled seafood at reasonable prices.

Hickory Tavern

North Myrtle Beach recently welcomed a new establishment to their restaurant family: Hickory Tavern. This North Carolina-based chain is a cool sports bar that serves tasty pub food such as burgers, seafood, sandwiches, and more.

ALDI

Two ALDI grocery stores are slated to open in Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach by spring 2017. The national chain is known for providing customers with great products at reasonable prices. No official opening date or locations have been announced as of yet.

Pirate Ship Adventures

Head on over to the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk and take part in a truly unique family-friendly experience! Pirate Ship Adventures is a new attraction that allows families to take a cruise around the inlet in a pirate ship! Kids (and adults) are encouraged to dress up in their best pirate wear and get ready to have a blast participating in pirate-inspired activities.

Cooper House Dinner Theatre

The Cooper House in Socastee is under new ownership, and this special events center is making a comeback like never before. Each month, the Cooper House will be putting on Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre as well as other entertainment. Come out, enjoy a show, and eat delicious food created by a professional restaurateur!

The Track Recreation Center

The Track Recreation is a new family-friendly attraction featuring multi-level go-kart tracks for kids and adults. In addition to these fun rides, The Track is also home to an arcade with modern and classic games.

RipTydz

RipTydz is a new, hip oceanfront grille & rooftop bar that is opening in downtown Myrtle Beach. The restaurant, aimed at attracting millenials, is slated to open in February 2017. The main attraction is this new restaurant will be its beautiful view of the ocean as well as the rooftop bar that will be great for grabbing drinks with friends, as well as listening to live music.
