Band Member #1: “It’s a lot of fun. It’s really nice were not required to blend into the wallpaper. We get to share in the show and we get to make it as good as we can make it, too, and that’s a lot of fun.
We play anything that’s called for, which can be all over the map. I mean going from Justin Timberlake to the Blue Brothers is a pretty hard left turn, musically speaking. And that’s some of the most fun parts of the gig, I think, are the fact that we get to do something different every set. And there are times where if you aren’t terribly familiar with the style of the music, you really have to get into it a lot, before you can step on stage and do the show. So, it’s a really intense learning experience.
It’s unexpected every night. That’s another really cool part of this gig is the people watching because people respond to their own things. And when you put 600 of them in the room at the same time, they are going to react differently to different stuff. And it’s really funny to watch Elvis come out, and every woman in the room screams. It doesn’t matter how old they are.
When you come out and you’re with an act, and everybody in the room is really, really into that act. Rob Connell, who is doing a Rod Stewart tribute right now, just knows how to really tear a room up and it doesn’t matter what is going on. He’s going to make you have a good time. And so the reaction those people give is always different and it’s always fun.
I never really listened to Rod Stewart and I had no idea it would be that much to play, or honestly, Elvis, for that matter. Some of that Elvis music is some of the most fun music I’ve ever played in my life. I never would have expected that before I started doing this gig.
Band Member #2: That’s like walking in as a huge Justin Timberlake fan, you don’t think a Lady Gaga’s set is going to blow your mind, but it totally changed my perspective on her.
Band Member #1: It really did. It really did.
Band Member #3: There’s so many different music styles. I mean. I never thought I would have played Liberace, or any kind of stuff, and that’s one thing I love about this gig is all the different styles we are trying to mimic, and you end up finding out that you actually really like when your done with the run. You’re like, oh man, I really like Liberace. You know, it was fun.
Band Member #1: You knew you like Liberace.
I would invite anybody to come out and check out the show. Even if you have a preconceived idea of what you think you were going to see, leave it at the door and have a good time. It’s going to be fun. Just trust me.
Band Member #3: If you like music, then you will love this show. Hands down.
Band Member #4: Hands down. Hands down.
