In the summertime, Myrtle Beach is hot, hot, hot! That's why vacationers seek out the hotels with the best amenitites such as indoor and outdoor pools, waterparks, Lazy Rivers, and more. What kind of summer would it be without the sun, the water, and lots and lots of fun?
No one knows the Myrtle Beach hotel pools and waterparks better than vacationers, so we recently surveyed Myrtle Beach visitors to see what their favorite hotel pools and water features are. Here is a list of their top 10:
When visiting Myrtle Beach, it is common for vacationers to want to feel as if they are in a tropical setting. Peppered with South Carolina’s famous palmetto trees, the pool area at North Beach Plantation has an unmistakable Caribbean feel. Swim up to the bar and grab a delicious beverage in the main pool, or float around in any of the several other pools available. Walk along the spacious sundeck and stick your toes (and maybe even the rest of your body) in one of many hot tubs. Afterwards, wash off under a waterfall shower and take a well-deserved nap in your cabana.
Looking for a nice room and awesome pools? Look no further! Enjoy Myrtle Beach Marriott Resort & Spa at Grande Dunes’ spacious oceanfront pool area which is lined with beautiful South Carolinian palmetto trees. For those of you who want to have more fun in the water rather than just floating around, check out the enormous walk-in pool with an awesome waterslide, just around the corner from the children’s play area. While the main pool is kept at a bearable temperature year-round, there is also an indoor pool for those days when the sun is just too hot or if it is raining. Dunes Village Resort is a place of non-stop fun, and with 30,000 sq ft, of waterpark you and the kids will never want to leave. This resort features indoor and outdoor pools, along with two children’s waterslides, adult waterslides, and indoor and outdoor lazy rivers. There is also children’s wading pool and play area with a large water dump bucket, elephants that shoot water, and other cool water-related activities. Families can play water basketball in designated areas, or sit outside by the pool and eat. Adults: be sure to enjoy a cocktail at the poolside bar.
The most notable water feature at Kingston Shores is SPLASH! Water Park. This Caribbean themed water park is 50,000 square-feet of pure fun! SPLASH! Water Park features water slides, water spouts, and many other water-related activities. For the adults and families not attending the water park, there are several outdoor pools including the largest main pool which transitions from a deep-water pool to a unique sand-bottom pool. For those of you trying to relax, there are a copious amount of lounge chairs available as well as hot tubs. For those of you trying to stay on top of your workout, the Kingston Plantation Sport & Health Club features a junior Olympic sized pool as well as an indoor heated pool.
Long Bay Resort, located on the north end of Myrtle Beach, doesn’t skimp when it comes to awesome water-related amenities. This oceanfront resort offers vacationers the option to hang out on the beach all day, or unwind on the outdoor pool deck. If you’re planning on staying at Sands Beach Club, the best time to do so is in the summer. Why? Because Sands Beach Club has its very own Sands Waterpark that is only open during the summer months. Guests at Sands Beach Club get to enjoy free admission as well as no crazy lines. Sands Waterpark features slides, waterfall pools, kiddie pools, an aquatic playground, a Lazy River, and a bubble pool. Guests don’t have to go to the waterpark to take a swim because Sands Beach Club also has indoor and outdoor pools as well as whirlpool hot tubs for the adults.
With over 20 water and pool features, Compass Cove is the place to be in the summertime. People of all ages can choose from 2 thrilling waterslides, or float around in any of the 3 Lazy Rivers.
