A Day on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk

Your stay in Myrtle Beach wouldn't be complete without a day spent on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk. Great food, fun activities, beautiful views … it certainly has a lot to offer. Here are our suggestions for a full day of fun on the Boardwalk.

Start your day off right with a quick stroll south to the Boardwalk Coffee Shop, where you'll find a full range coffee beverages, plus some breakfast offerings that will fuel you up for a day spend walking and taking in the activities the Boardwalk has to offer.

Next up: Relax. Now's the time, in the cool of the morning, to find a bench, gaze out at the sea, and relax. There's no rush. Enjoy your to-go coffee while you watch the gulls and feel the breeze off the ocean. Do some people watching. Enjoy.

OK, all refreshed and ready for adventure? Great! Head a little farther south and find Myrtle Beach Zipline Adventures. This thrill ride zips riders 600 feet from one tower to another (at speeds of up to 40 mph!), and ends the fun with a free-fall from a 60-foot-tall tower. There are six side-by-side ziplines, so the whole family can enjoy.

Now that your adrenaline is pumping, backtrack half a block and go have some oddball fun at Ripley's Believe It or Not! This collection of five attractions includes Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Odditorium, Ripley’s Aquarium, a 5D Moving Theater, the Haunted Adventure and the Marvelous Mirror Maze.

Bet you're hungry now. Head across the street to find plenty of choices, from Dirty Don's Oyster Bar to Peaches Corner, Oceanfront Bar and Grill, Moe Moon's Oceanfront Cafe or even, for a treat, Mad Myrtle's Ice Creamery.

Now it's time for a post-lunch stroll and some serious shopping — and you get to see more of the beautiful boardwalk. Head south once more. First up will be the famous Gay Dolphin Gift Cove, which calls itself the largest gift store in the world. With 70,000-plus items, they might be right! Further along the Boardwalk, you'll find more shops selling T-shirts, souvenirs and virtually everything else, so walk on, shop, have fun.
When you've shopped to your heart's content, it's time to turn around and head back north. There are tons of activities to choose from in the heart of the Boardwalk, including an arcade, family fun center, Wild West Photo booth, and for those with a sweet tooth, I Love Sugar, the candy store extraordinaire.

Now it's time for an enchanting ride on the SkyWheel, the 187-foot Ferris wheel that looks over the beach.

When you're ready for dinner, you can't beat the beautiful beachside location of Landshark Bar & Grill. Burgers, seafood, drinks, casual dining and tons of fun — this restaurant has you covered.

Top off your day on the Boardwalk with a visit to Plyler Park, which offers free concerts and fireworks throughout the summer months.

Now, wasn't that a fun day?
